We're Pregnant! Again!!
After 15 long weeks, the cat is finally out of the bag. Why wait so long?
2 words: Subchorionic Hemorrhage....I will abbreviate it SH so I don't have to type those awful words anymore.
Let's backtrack.....We got pregnant in August. Solis and I drove to my husband's work to tell him. We were on cloud 9 until our first ultrasound at 8 weeks. As we were leaving, the tech said, "You have a slight SH and are on pelvic and exercise rest until your doctor states otherwise." I immediately googled it in the car and saw the word no expectant mother wants to see: miscarriage.
A SH is a type of blood clot found between the pregnancy membranes and the wall of the uterus. I was surprised I had one b/c I wasn't having any spotting. So for 7 loooong weeks, I sat on my butt (not easy AT ALL being an avid runner) and worried constantly I was going to lose this baby. I was told the clot could either dissolve into my body or come out. And if it comes out, it's going to come out BIG....so needless to say, I was a tad paranoid going out in public! The first trimester is rough enough with nauseousness, tiredness, and headaches but add the anxiety of a possible miscarriage b/c of a SH, it's an even bigger whammy of crap.
We prayed earnestly and trusted God with this child. We prayed God would give us contentment no matter what the outcome. I had my 2nd ultrasound at 10 weeks, the day after my birthday and found out the clot grew. Happy birthday to me. Couldn't even have a glass of wine to cheer me up. But a Dairy Queen blizzard sorta did.
4 weeks later, we had our 3rd ultrasound and the clot was gone! Prayers answered!! No more pelvic rest! (Shaun rejoicing!) No more exercise rest! (I was doing cartwheels out of the doctor's office.) 1st trimester done. SH gone.
Time to tell the world our happy, happy news!!!
